Project:  Cervical Screen Awareness Campaign
Client:  NHS Northamptonshire

The challenge

Not enough women in Northamptonshire where attending their regular cervical screening appointments. Research showed that three barriers were stopping women from going; pain, embarrassment and time.

 
 
 

Our solution

These barriers or ‘excuses’ are more like urban myths. We created the ‘No Excuses’ campaign to help dispel them. The campaign worked by comparing getting a cervical screening test to everyday activities and as a result reducing the importance and reality of the barriers.

 
 
 
 

Outcome

Working in partnership with the NHS Marketing team and their programs the campaign helped increase test uptake by 8% over a six week period.

The campaign was ‘Highly Commended’ at the CIPR Awards.
